Research-Backed Knowledge

Cat advice you can actually trust

The internet is full of cat advice. Most of it is wrong, outdated, or trying to sell you something. The My Feline Library is different.

Every article we publish starts with the original research. We read the veterinary journals, the clinical papers, the peer-reviewed studies, and then we translate what we find into plain English. No jargon, no guesswork, just the latest thinking on feline health and behaviour.

How every article is made

Our team has a strong background in research methodology and a deep commitment to getting things right. Every article in the Library follows the same rigorous process, so you can trust what you read.

We identify the question

Every article starts with a real question that cat owners ask. Sometimes it comes from our own research interests. Sometimes it comes directly from members using the feedback tool in the app.

We go to the source

We work from peer-reviewed journals, clinical studies, and established veterinary science. We read the actual papers, assess their methodology, and determine what the evidence really says.

We rate the evidence

Every article receives a star rating from one to five. This tells you how strong the scientific evidence is behind what you're reading. Not every topic has decades of research, and that's fine. You just deserve to know the difference.

We translate it for you

The findings get written up in clear, friendly language that anyone can follow. We cite our sources, explain the context, and make sure the advice is genuinely useful, not just technically accurate.

Want the full breakdown of our research process and methodology? Read our How We Research page.

What the star ratings mean

The star rating isn't about the quality of our writing. It's about the strength of the science behind the topic. Some subjects have been studied extensively. Others are newer areas where the research is still developing. Both can be valuable, but you deserve to know which is which.

Early Research Interesting findings, but the science is still being explored
Emerging Evidence A few studies support it, but there's more work to do
Solid Evidence Multiple studies back it up, including peer-reviewed research
Strong Evidence Well-established findings. Most feline experts would agree
Established Science The universal truths of cat care. Backed by decades of research

"Your cat's health shouldn't depend on which blog post ranks highest on Google."

Personalised to your cat. Shaped by you.

Because we know your cat's breed, age, and health history through Pawtfolio, the articles you see are tailored to what matters right now. A kitten owner will see different content from someone caring for a senior cat with kidney issues. The Library adapts as your cat's life changes.

And if there's something we haven't covered yet, you can tell us. Members can suggest topics directly through the feedback tool in the app. We're constantly diving into new questions, and some of the best articles we've written started with a suggestion from a member.
